The Artists

Born in Yorkshire, England, June Scarlett lived on the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Anglesy, Eastbourne and Twickenham. In 1963 she emigrated with her family to Beaconsfield.

“After more than twenty years of painting, I see beauty everywhere around me – from the once-in-a-lifetime sight of a fully rigged sailing ship lighted by the setting sun off Perce Rock to the transparency of a petal or from the formation of minute crystals under a microscope to the light on a cloud.”

“I love the variety of texture I can achieve with oils and I like painting with a knife. I find, however, certain subjects demand other treatments and I enjoy experimenting with the same subject but using a different medium.”
