Alicia Sosa
Alicia Sosa was born in Monterrey, Mexico. Coming from a family of artists, she has always had a passion for drawing and painting for her own personal enjoyment.
She studied architecture in Mexico and earned a master's degree in architecture from the University of Colorado in Denver, USA. After moving to Montreal, she decided to pursue her passion for painting full-time. She took courses at the Visual Arts Centre in Westmount, Montreal, studying "Old Master's Techniques" with Ljubomir Ivankovic and Baroque Techniques with Irena Korosec.
She is an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists, the Lakeshore Artists Association, and the Beaconsfield Artists Association.
Although she constantly experiments with different ways of expressing herself, her work projects a contemporary style with surrealist tendencies.
She has exhibited in local art shows in Montreal. Her favorite subjects are oranges and simple moments in life.

“Painting is a tool for me to share my perception of life. It is an invitation to seek the essence of things, rather than their superficiality. I play with colors and light to evoke emotions. I am motivated and inspired by the way light hits and reflects off objects. Capturing and conveying all its splendor is my constant challenge.”
