Atmo Zakes

Atmo Zakes began her artistic training in professional photography from 1970 to 1973.

She also pursued further training with well-known Quebec artists.

Since her first exhibition in Trausse, France, in 1995, she has exhibited regularly with several artists' associations, as well as a solo exhibition at the International Museum of Naïve Art in Magog for four months in 2023, and two solo exhibitions in Germany: in Schwetzingen in 2023, and from September 2024 to June 2025 in Berlin.

Atmo enjoys painting with acrylics and water-soluble oils, but she also explores other techniques, including watercolor, image transfer, and collage.

"Painting is one of the great adventures of my life! Choosing political (peace) and environmental (animals and nature) subjects is part of my social conscience and allows me to feel involved."
