Christine is an oil and watercolor artist
From a young age, Christine has expressed herself through art. After exploring drawing, working with clay, enameling copper, folk art, and jewelry making, she found her calling in oil painting. Inspired by nature, she is passionate about using vibrant colors and organic forms to communicate her perception of her chosen subject, thus infusing emotion into her work. Christine is primarily self-taught. She currently lives and paints in Beaconsfield, Quebec. Her artistic practice now includes both oils and watercolors.

Artist's statement
When I look at my world, I see shapes, complex forms, and textures. I see how colors dance in the changing light. What I see evokes emotions that compel me to paint. I love the vibrant colors and textures of oil paint. They allow me complete control over the medium to achieve the desired effect. In contrast, watercolor requires me to relinquish some of that control and embrace the spontaneity of the result. I strive to use these attributes to convey the emotional response that my subjects, whether seen or imagined, evoke in me.
