Jutta Ipsen

Artist's statement
I have always been fascinated by nature, observing its changing colors, light, and contrasts. Today's technology allows me to take photographs whenever a scene, pattern, or design catches my eye so that I can later interpret these experiences on canvas. I want to continue exploring new techniques and learning how to enhance the sense of natural beauty in my paintings.

Artist biography

Born in Resita, Romania, I have always loved the arts, color, and painting, and later I became interested in photography and sculpture. I discovered the arts as a young child in primary school with the painter Petru Comisarski, and then in high school and middle school with the painters Petru Galis and Nicolae Ungar.

I graduated from the "Politehnica" University of Timișoara (Romania) with a degree in electrical and computer engineering.
Later, in Germany, and then here in Canada, I worked as a software engineer and specialist. During those years working in software development, I channeled my creativity into technology.

For me, painting is the mastery of the art of transformation. Light and colors can reveal mood and add life to any image or object.
