Artist's statement
“Trees make art a marvel”
“I like to give my paintings a realistic character. Through my textures, I obviously hope that the public will feel the irresistible urge to stretch out their arm and touch them with their hand, if only to be amazed that their eyes have played a trick on them.
I deeply believe that trees are vital to our universe, and it breaks my heart to see them being cut down. They are remarkable for their singular beauty and the unique stories they tell. They are majestic in that they reach for the sky and celebrate life. They cover the earth like umbrellas, and I firmly believe that the need to cut one down must be accompanied by the will to plant two.
My work may encourage people to become aware of the infinite diversity of the nature that surrounds us, as well as the need to respect and appreciate it, instead of taking it for granted.
I paint what I observe and I consider myself very lucky to be able to express in my watercolors the love I have for the patterns and formations of nature.”
