Terri McKeown

"Painting is like breathing; it comes from deep within. I feel privileged every day to be able to find my peace with a paintbrush." – Terri

A self-taught artist, Terri McKeown draws inspiration from her imagination, transforming a blank canvas into captivating images. She is fascinated by the ebb and flow of water, particularly the ocean, which is often her favorite subject. Terri knows when her canvas is finished when she feels the sound and movement of the waves within herself.

Terri paints realistic works such as landscapes and also experiments with abstract and semi-abstract works. Inspired by her love of the sea, the sky, and nature, her paintings evoke the peaceful tranquility of places she has visited and of which she has fond memories.

When creating her works on canvas, her favorite color has always been: "All of them!" Working primarily with acrylics, she sometimes adds other textured mediums to her compositions.

Her works are part of private collections in Canada and the United States. She also created a "book-eating" library commissioned by the City of Beaconsfield.
